Well, Bush won... I guess I'm not really surprised, but more flabbergasted that the American people could re-elect such a president. I'm pretty disillusioned with the American public. I realize that not everyone voted for Bush, and that many many people are against him and his politics, but at the same time, he won the popular vote! Has more than half the population gone blind? Or perhaps it's a case of putting blinders on so that they only see what they want; they can hide behind Bush's "strong moral values" and his decisive actions. But frankly , I'd take a president who takes a moment to consider the implications of his actions, and who is more accepting of human diversity, than one who wages uncalled for wars and wants to take away the rights of gay and lesbian people.
But apparently the majority of americans are willing to be led further down a path that only bodes trouble - for the nation and the world.
When I found out this morning that Kerry had conceded the presidency to Bush, I was more than a little disheartened. However, when I stepped outside, the sun was shining, and the air was crisp and clean. And I thought, the world is waking up. The world is shaking off it's lethargy and maybe something good will come of this.

not to mention he's taking away the right for the normal every day woman to decide what to do with her own personal body
indeed! how could I have forgotten to mention that??? to wrapped up in it all i guess. Thanks for adding it in.
I think the worst part is I was flipping though the channels yesterday, and I saw some guy saying the reaon people voted for Bush is because they were upset about the way the world was going (e.g. abortion, sex on TV)... I would think they would be more worried about innocent civilians dying, sending their children to die or be wounded in a ridiculous, unfair war as factors making the world bad, rather than sex on TV. Talk about priorities!

not to mention that when the twin towers got destroyed, bush blamed osama bin laden (taliban). but who'd he wage war on? Hussein!! what the hell??? And then he got the bin ladens safely out of the country!! and the bushes and bin ladens are old family friends (oil money etc..) i just don't get how people don't see this.
